My stay at Akbal Playa was a mixed bag. The location was great, with awesome restaurants nearby, but the service left a lot to be desired. I had some cleanliness issues in my room that were quickly addressed after I complained, but it shouldn’t have gotten to that point.

The King Suite with Pool View was spacious but definitely needed a bit of love. I found some cleanliness issues like dead cockroaches and dirty sheets, which took away from the experience. After raising my concerns, the staff did come in to clean, which I appreciated.

The staff was friendly, but I felt like they were overwhelmed at times. I had to wait too long for assistance, which was frustrating. They did eventually respond to my requests, but it shouldn't have been this difficult.

You can't beat the location! It's right in the middle of the touristy area, close to the beach and nearby restaurants like Fenix, which was my favorite spot. I loved how everything was accessible without hassle.
